The Instant Millionaire is a great book by Mark Fisher. There aren’t any crazy new lessons in this book, but the way it is covered is interesting. The book provides self-development advice in the form of a story which is not the typical way that self-development advice is provided. Usually an author just covers steps or habits that they’ve implemented in their own life.
The story is of a young man who wants to be a millionaire. On his quest to become a millionaire, he gets mentored by one man who is labeled the “instant millionaire.” In order to figure out why he has that label, you’ll have to read the book. The book isn’t that long, so I definitely encourage you to read it. I listened to this on audiobook, and the narration was great as well.
Who Is The Author – Mark Fisher?
Mark Fisher is the author. He became a millionaire after being mentored by a millionaire himself. He was in a job he didn’t like and encountered an older millionaire who provided lessons on how to become a millionaire. He turned those lessons into a brief newspaper article and then later turned that into this book.
Key Lessons From The Instant Millionaire
I wanted to provide some key lessons from the book without giving too much away
Millionaires and the wealthy have been making money using other people’s money for ages and they will continue to do so. Don’t think that you always have to use your money.
The main reason you aren’t a millionaire is because of your mental limitations.
Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. Why should people give you money if you don’t think your worthy?
Don’t toil away at a job you hate.
Millionaires make money doing what they love.
You don’t have to work harder to get millions. For example, if you make $100,000 a year, do you think a millionaire works 10x the hours you do? No, they’ve come up with alternative solutions.
Set concrete financial goals. If you want to get somewhere, you need a plan. You have to give something for your brain to work on, and it will help you accomplish it. Another great distinction the book provides is the difference between being a millionaire based on your assets versus making a million in income. Which do you want to be? Make sure to clarify it in your goals. The book provides specific guidelines to accomplish this and are somewhat unique. There are also some money mantras in the book which are great and easy-to-follow. They are just as likely to help you become a millionaire as information from any other book. Even if you don’t care about your financial goals, the books is worth it just for the advice it provides on setting and achieving goals.
You have to change your outlook on life in order to accomplish your dreams. Do you look at life in a positive light? Do you view yourself as being capable of earning a million dollars. If not, then you have to change that. If you don’t believe you can earn a million dollars, then who is going to give you a million dollars? You won’t be willing to ask your boss for a raise, or you won’t be able to charge your customers enough money.
The book also provides some self affirmations that are very good and easy to implement. It also provides reasons as to why self affirmations are key to success. You aren’t a millionaire for a reason. You need to convince your mind that is possible. In order to do that, you have to tell it to your mind over and over again.
Another thing the book emphasizes is staying focused. If you can stay focused, you can find your true purpose in life and achieve your goals. This is similar to other books like Deep Work that talk about how the most successful people are able to keep their focus on the task at hand. This will be key in the future because the world economy is built around distracting people.
Speaking of distractions — Instant Millionaire focuses on sitting down and considering your future. Most people don’t ever do this in their lives. If you want to achieve your goals, you have to sit down and think about what it will take to achieve them. Don’t just drift through life and hope things will happen in your favor.
Don’t blame others for your problems.
Set positive goals and create positive affirmations. When you set your goals and intentions, make sure they won’t harm you or others.
You aren’t guaranteed tomorrow so take advantage of today and accomplish as many important tasks as possible.
In conclusion, if I were to recommend one book on becoming a millionaire, this would be the book. Why do I say that? I say that because it provides a concrete path to become a millionaire in an entertaining, easy-to-follow format.
